Your privacy is important to me. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how it is handled and how you can contact me about it.
Publication draft: the two bracketed sections require confirmation of the business’s actual technology arrangements before this policy is published.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers personal information handled by Jackie Nield, operating under the registered business name Your Potential, through https://jackienield.com.au, enquiries, bookings, purchases, newsletters and client services. For privacy enquiries, email jackie@jackienield.com.au.
Information I collect
Depending on the service, I may collect your name, email, telephone number, current location, booking details and communications. For Akashic Records services, this may also include your current and birth names, date and place of birth, and your intention for the service.
I may hold intake responses, session notes, personalised reports and information you share about your circumstances, wellbeing or spiritual beliefs. Some of this may be sensitive or health information. I seek your consent to collect sensitive information where required and only collect what is reasonably necessary for our work.
Payment providers process your payment details. I may receive transaction records and payment confirmations. Testimonials, photographs or recordings may also be held where you have provided them or consented to their collection.
How information is collected
Information is generally collected directly from you through enquiries, booking and intake forms, newsletter registrations, emails, sessions and training. It may also be supplied by a parent or guardian, or by another person with your permission.
You may make a general enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym where practical. Certain services require identifying information to complete a booking or prepare your reading. If you do not provide necessary information, I may be unable to provide that service.
How information is used
I use information to respond to enquiries, arrange and deliver services, prepare reports, send relevant preparation and follow-up communications, process payments, maintain records and meet legal obligations.
If you subscribe or otherwise consent, I may send newsletters, meditations, offers and updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails or by contacting me. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential messages about your existing booking.
I will seek separate permission before using an identifiable client story, testimonial, photograph or recording in my marketing. Acceptance of booking terms does not itself give permission for promotional use.
Who information may be shared with
Information may be shared with service providers who help administer the business, such as booking, payment, email, website, technology and administrative support providers. They should only receive the information needed for their role. Current booking, payment and newsletter systems include Acuity Scheduling, Stripe and MailerLite.
I may also disclose information with your consent or where required or authorised by law. I do not sell your personal information. Sensitive client information is not shared with marketing or administrative support simply because they assist the business.
Overseas service providers
Online services may store or process information outside Australia. Their locations depend on the providers and the account arrangements used.
[Before publication: confirm the overseas countries involved in Acuity Scheduling, Stripe, MailerLite, website hosting, email, cloud storage and any administrative support, and replace this paragraph with the verified countries and relevant arrangements.]
Storage security and retention
Information may be held in electronic booking systems, emails, client reports and business records, and in paper records where used. I take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, use or disclosure, and limit access to those who need it for their role.
I retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain appropriate records and meet legal obligations. When no longer required, I take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it, subject to applicable retention requirements. No online system can guarantee complete security.
Website cookies and embedded content
The website and connected services may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security and usage information. Technical information may include your IP address, browser, device and pages visited. You can manage cookies through your browser, although some features may be affected.
Embedded videos, booking tools or other third-party content may collect information under their own privacy policies.
[Before publication: confirm the website’s active cookies, analytics and advertising tools. Confirm whether comments, Gravatar, visitor accounts or image uploads are enabled, and retain the relevant details from the existing website policy if those features are used.]
Access correction and deletion
You can contact me to request access to your personal information or ask for corrections. I may need to verify your identity before providing it. I will respond within a reasonable time and explain any lawful reason for refusing a request and how you can complain.
You may also ask for information to be deleted. Some records may need to be retained for legal or other permitted reasons; I will explain where that applies.
Information about children
For clients under 18, parent or legal guardian consent is required before services are provided. Personal information about a young client is handled with care, taking account of their age, capacity, consent and applicable legal requirements.
Privacy concerns and complaints
If you have a concern about how I have handled your information, email jackie@jackienield.com.au with the relevant details. I will acknowledge your concern, investigate and aim to respond within 30 days. If more time is needed, I will let you know.
If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au, where it has jurisdiction, or another relevant privacy regulator.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when services or information-handling practices change. The current version will be published on my website with its update date. You can request a copy by email.
